Went out this afternoon to explore the Phoenix Sonoran Preserve. We’ve never been there and given that we really weren’t prepared for a long hike having both grandsons, our dog, and my mother, we only did a short walk and grabbed a few caches. We’re going to have to come back soon and do some nice hiking in a beautiful area

A Dreidel in the Desert
Was out with Gillian, the boys, and my mother, and we found a new road that just opened up. Kellen walked to the cache, opened it up, and there was a dreidel – the last thing I would have guessed! Happy Hanukkah. We’ll light the candles in the menorah after sundown.

Baker’s Dozen
Spent a good portion of the day with my mother hunting for hides that got us to North Scottsdale, Carefree and Cave Creek . Our goal was ten, then grabbed two more, ate lunch, and finally settled on 13. Neither of us is triskaidekaphobic.
There was a cache at this location, and of course, the Boulders Resort is spectacular.

On Broadway
Sharon and I were in Tempe yesterday and had to hook up with some friends in Mesa. We found ourselves on Broadway and picked up a couple of caches. Of course I had to start singing the song

“Let’s go Geocaching Mitch”
And so we did. Kellen and I went hunting for an easy one that he could spot. Around the corner from my house was one that needed logging so we went to the site and he told me he was going to find it all by himself, and he did. I’ve create a GeoMonster!

MacSynergy, LLC – Mac and iOS Consulting
When I’m not geocaching I spend what is probably too much time in front of my Mac. Have been for years. In any event, I updated my business website using WordPress, and while it’s a continual work in progress, it is better than the one I did using Apple’s iWeb. MacSynergy, LLC is the most experienced Mac and iOS Consulting firm in Scottsdale, Arizona, and if I can be of service, let me know. Have Mac. Will Travel.

Kellen’s Kid’s Kache
Lately we’ve been taking my 3 year old grandson Kellen geocaching, and he’s fallen in love with it. He always asks us, “When are we going geocaching?” Of course, I then have to put together a plan and off we go. The other day he found an empty 35mm film canister in the house and said, “This looks like a geocache.” How right he was. So we decided to incorporate that into a very kid friendly container and location that is aimed at young kids. The park is a beautiful gem in North Phoenix with a playground and a huge field that is great for flying kites. The container is large enough to hold all sorts of kid-friendly trinkets, and there is a $1.00 bill for the FTF – kids only please. The cache’s description is noted here

Game On
After last week’s adventure with our friend Shauna who was in from Denver, she decided to go out today in her Colorado neighborhood and go on a hunt. I challenged her and she accepted. I won -as it was meant to be – but of course she and her son are newbies, and I imagine they’ll give me a run for the money as time passes. OF course the snow in Denver didn’t help their hunt. Hang in there lady, you’re going to do great.

Red Red Wine
Spent this past Sunday in Cottonwood with a friend who came in from Denver for the weekend. Shauna had never been geocaching and immediately fell in love with it as soon as she found her first cache. You go girl. We also spent time tasting delicious wine at the Arizona Stronghold winery tasting room. Good friends, good wine, good times hunting for caches and amazingly gorgeous day. Life is good
